Master List of 613 Mormon Rules (Mormon Grace)

  1. It is fascinating that you describe this list as "Mormon Rules". There are dozens of "rules" or commandments and instructions you have quoted from the Bible. So I am forced to presume that those commandments from God and Jesus do not apply to you or anyone else, except to those Mormons who are trying to be faithful and obedient to God's word? Very odd indeed. Glad you pointed that out though. You also describe this list as "Mormon Grace." Unfortunately almost none of your references have anything to do with grace at all! Not mentioned in the slightest way in nearly all the examples? Quite the oversight blunder. Other people will quickly notice the overreach as well and will wonder why you have brought this up at all? Better for all of us to just keep in mind the rule Jesus actually taught: "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do;" and also in John, "If ye love me, keep my commandments." It is very easy to see who really believes in Jesus and loves Jesus. Look at what they say and what they do. Look at their website. The Son of God also taught that "A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them." The Savior also pointed out another rule that "Many will say to me in that day: Lord, Lord, have not we prophesied in thy name, and cast out devils in thy name, and done many miracles in thy name? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity. Every one therefore that heareth these my words, and doeth them, shall be likened to a wise man that built his house upon a rock, And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell not, for it was founded on a rock. And every one that heareth these my words, and doeth them not, shall be like a foolish man that built his house upon the sand, And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and they beat upon that house, and it fell, and great was the fall thereof." Was that meant just for Mormons too? Again, easy to see who knows Jesus, is wise and does his works; and who does not know Jesus and is a foolish worker of iniquity. James had a related “Mormon Rule” that he taught as well: “Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.” And lastly, let us not forget the critical rules Paul taught: "Therefore we make it our aim, whether present or absent, to be well pleasing to Him. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive the things done in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.” He also stated his rule this way: "But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed. He will render to each one according to his works: to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life; but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury. There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek, but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek." Maybe I should not have brought up these additional "Mormon Rules" but true followers of Christ find them eternally important even though they don't mention grace either. Maybe we could agree that the grace of God (particularly through the work known as the atonement of Christ) is the foundation upon which following the rules of God or works of God are built and wherein they have any efficacy at all before God. See you at the judgment seat!
